Fresh from my photo-call with Tony Blair (see the evidence at my flickr page)I had another brush with fame on last Tuesday night. I got a call from a photographer friend who offered me an Access All Areas pass to the Babyshambles gig at the Barras. I found myself in the eye of the tabloid storm, just days after he was banned from driving (!he's wild!) for some reason or other. Also, he had recently been spotted drinking champagne with Kate Moss. In France! This was their second sell-out show and the place was packed with the yoot of Glasgow, there were footless leggings and ra-ra skirts as far as the eye could see. And that was just the men, etc etc. Every time Pete appeared near the stage the crowd became hysterical. One girl managed to breach the barrier but was swiftly dispatched out the door by the Barras finest. With my pass stuck the the thigh of my jeans, as is the fashion, I got into the photography pit (first three songs, no flash). This was a great experience as I've never shot any big venues before. The light was incredible and it was possible to feel the excitement of the crowd you were so close. There was plenty of beer flying but I didn't get hit. Well, I think it was beer. Hopefully I'll get more opportunities in the future to shoot at big venues as the photos make my portfolio look really sweet. Pete Doherty - the wild man of rock that everyone's mum has heard of.

At first glance I thought it was a picture of a young Greig Fergeason.
